The Entla's Keller
Today
the area of the Entla's Keller contains three
historical stone cellars: the Resenscheck's Keller,
the Kitzmann Keller and the actual Entla's
Keller. The latter used to belong to the Tauber
brewery (at Martin-Luther-Platz 5) which stopped brewing
in 1910. The father of its present keeper bought the
cellar in 1952 and named it after his restaurant at
Westliche Stadtmauerstraße.
This year the 'beer test', as the citizens of Erlangen
refer to the broaching ceremony, will take place at the Entla's
Keller, the Lord Mayor of the city of Erlangen, Dr
Siegfried Balleis, will broach the first beer barrel and
open the 'fifth season'. |
